Amazing to see

At the time of writing, only one track from Santo Domingo was open. Hopefully the other will be in better condition once reopened. We decided to walk the 4kms as the dirt track looked bad. It did improve slightly as we went up and cars did come by, just drive slowly. It was mainly uphill on the way. Beautiful view at the top of the whole site, so stop to take a photo. Only a handful of people there. No signs to say where it is, used Google maps.

The epic Sad Hill Cemetery from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
The Sad Hill Cemetery is being beautifully restored by the Asociación Cultural Sad Hill. I visited prior to the ambitious project's commencement, and am posting pictures from this occasion in September, 2014. I had purchased a replica 1860 Remington Army revolver, holster and hat from Fort Texas in the Tabernas Desert, another of the sets used in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The Cemetery is the most famous of the locations in the region near Santo Domingo de Silos, with the Langston Bridge, the Union prison camp "Battleville" and the Monasterio de San Pedro de Arlanza. The road to Sad Hill Cemetery begins at the intersection of Pasaje Las Calderas, Santo Domingo de Silos at coordinates 41°57'51.3"N 3°25'13.9"W, running along the south side of the large parking lot (41°57'53.5"N 3°25'12.6"W) for pilgrims visiting the Abbey. You will pass a Romanesque Arch Gate at 41°57'51.7"N 3°25'07.6"W on your right on Pasaje las Calderas. The paved section of the road ends 80 meters after this and it takes a bit of momentum to make it up the hill on the now unpaved section. This will bring you to the intersection of Pasaje las Calderas (unpaved), Calle Abad Ildefonso Guepin (unpaved) and Calle del Medio (unpaved) and Camino a Contreras (unpaved) at coordinates 41°57'50.6"N 3°24'58.7"W. There is a television or radio relay station at the top of hill to the left of this intersection. There will warning signs along the route about protecting the natural mushrooms. Continue northward on Camio a Contreras over the top of the hill that has the tunnel for BU-910 Santo Domingo de Silos. Continuing north-west on Calle Abad Ildefonso Guepin (unpaved) / Camino a Contreras (unpaved) for 4.5 kilometers. You will pass a Way of Saint James marker at coordinates 41°59'20.4"N 3°24'53.0"W where you will have a view of the valley and Sad Hill Cemetery. Continuing onward to the parking area (unpaved) for Sad Hill Cemetery at coordinates 41°59'33.5"N 3°24'34.6"W. Continuing onward you will reach the parking area for Sad Hill Cemetery (unpaved) at coordinates 41°59'33.5"N 3°24'34.6"W. It is a short walk to the center of the famous Cemetery, which is at 41°59'25.8"N 3°24'30.5"W. Watch out for pasture patties.

    Great FUN for cowboys fans
Already very late afternoon and all in the car just thinking of the coming dinner and the nice bed - when daddy that love surprises take the family to the detour that bring us to great fun place of the movie scene. Well worth the trip for any fun loving person. The road as described by other is little challenging - I do recommend the circular path that start with the dirt pass and finish with the more smooth one. We did million pictures and funny vdo movie shots.
