Here to hear the monks and they were amazing
A visit to the monastery is well worthwhile though you only get a tour of the cloister and the pharmacy. The real treat is the opportunity of hearing the monks. The basilica is open for services at various times during the day but the most popular is 19.00. Get there early as it soon fills up. I'd suggest respectable dress as it's a religious service not a stage show. The Gregorian chant is wonderful to hear and in a week we managed two visits and had the opportunity to hear different services. A truly memorable trip and one I'd very much recommend. Please note, no phones, video's, photo's or recording and please please show respect.

If you like Gregorian Chant, then this is their Head Office
A superb building full of great architecture, then at 7pm enjoy a 1,000 year old musical treat when the cloistered Monks enter the church to sing Vespers. If you have never heard the Chant of Angels before, then this is IT!
