We loved the "Pipadouro" boat trip in Douro Valley

The Duoro valley landscape is dominated with vineyards plus other interesting places to explore such as ruined castles, crumbling monasteries, shady forests and river beaches.

    Beautiful views
We cruised on the Emerald Radiance for 7 days from Porto, Portugal to the Spanish border and back. The views were fantastic. The area is primarily rural dotted with a few villages and tiny towns. Each turn on the narrow river brought more vineyards and olive trees into view. Every vineyard has a large sign displaying the owners of the vineyards, for example, Qunita da Vacaria, Dow's, or Sandeman. The narrowness of the river and the five deep locks kept us captivated by the skill of the ship's captain and crew. So take in a little of the Douro River or a lot, as we did, but try it. It was a delightful week and one we recommend to lovers of beautiful scenery and water.

    Amazing scenery and hospitality.
Myself and my girlfriend went on the day trip to Douro valley. It was amazing. Our tour guide was knowledgable and very attentive. The trip itself was breathtakingly beautiful. The hosts were unreal, they had vast amounts of knowledge and also catered to every need possible. We were expecting the lunch to be very basic but were pleasantly surprised to find a 5 star, 3 course meal. Worth every penny and more!!! Highly recommend.
