Astorga Cathedral, Castile and Leon, Spain

Take some time for visit also if you are in hurry
Although that cathedral in Burgos and Leon are more famous, i must admit that this cathedral does not lag behid those two. It has many interesting details and i will put it into a category Pilgrim's must when walking Camnio. As i remember there is also reduced entrance fee for pilgrims (and it is very low) and you get also an audio guide with many interesting details. Definitly it is worth to take 1 hour brake (also if you are not staying in Astorga) to visit this cathedral.

best Cathedral visit ever!
I’m not much of a Cathedral guy, but this was easily the best visit I’ve ever had to a Cathedral. Like most Cathedrals, the building is a work of art. But the tour’s audio guide — and especially the virtual reality glasses — made the building come alive for me. Kudos to whoever came up with the idea for the virtual reality glasses idea! (The other Cathedrals on the Camino might wish to provide these too.)

Very nice cathedral in Astorga
Astorga Cathedral is the main religious building in Astorga, a town in Castilla y León Region, in the North of Spain. It was built between 15 and 18th Century in a curious mix between Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance-style. The result is a very nice building, which is located close to the Astorga Palace built by Gaudí. It has a red facade and two bell towers. Pitifully, we does not have enough time and we could not enter. Next time. Very beautiful.
