World Largest Wind Chime, Illinois, United States

4.5 (237 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Casey Points of Interest & Landmarks

The Sounds of Judeo-Christian Unity

The Wind Chime is located next to a restaurant (access via their patio), on a street corner lot across from both the World's Largest Rocking Chair & the World's Largest Teeter-Totter on the east end of the "Biggest Things" attractions along Main Street Casey. The chimes can be rung by visitors by pulling on large ropes at the bottom. The chimes bear four symbols - two each Star of David & ichthys - reflecting the religious values of the town. Beyond those symbols, it's just a cool thing to ring.

    Beautiful to see
Loved that most of these BIG items in Casey also had an appropriate scripture on or around them. The wind chimes also had 2 Christian Fish symbols and 2 Jewish Star of Davids built into its design. You can pull on a rope to hear the wind chimes, but you’ll need to pull down very hard to get a decent amount of sound and its more like a deep gong than what typical wind chimes sound like. Considering the size and weight of them, this makes sense. Beautifully landscaped.

    You can ring the chime
By pulling on the ropes, you can make the chimes sound. Although it gongs, rather than chimes. We spent the evening driving/walking around Casey looking at all of the big things. The city of Casey has a website where you can see the location of all of the world records/big things they have. I'd recommend getting that first.
