Lovely little varied collection in central Reykjavik
This is a small but interesting collection. I toured it as part of my 48-hour CityPass in Reykjavik, which a purchased online. The CityPass is well worth it, gaining admittance to several museums. If you find yourself stranded for a few days in Iceland's capital due to bad weather (as happened to me), there are lots of museums to occupy your time. This was my favorite art museum of the group.

Could give interior a miss unless interested in modern Icelandic art
This place mentioned in a couple tour books as an extension of national museum. On the day we entered, all the exhibition space was allocated to modern Icelandic art. If that's not a particular interest of yours (it was not of ours), your time may be better spent elsewhere. There may be a different exhibit at the time of your visit. The building itself is attractive and used to serve as the public library (nice old reading room you can visit) and records office. The staff are very friendly. Admission is covered if you buy the City Card for Reykjavik.
