The first aquarium in the USA!
This gem has mostly fish and other creatures from local waters. Some years, there are seals outside that can not be released into the wild and are kept for their lifetimes. They are usually fed twice a day for public viewing. My favorite part of the aquarium are the look and touch tanks upstairs. They are at the right height for toddlers and older children to see and, with the help of an employee, touch or hold the specimens - starfish, shellfish, ...

    Small
This aquarium is definitely a hole-in-the wall space in Woods Hole. The aquarium is very small and consists primarily of fish. But it is free and is something to do if you are in the area. The employees are very nice. There are only 2-3 parking spaces in the actual parking lot for guests so be prepared to use the metered street parking around the corner on Water Street. Even though the address says it’s on Water Street, the road turns into Albatross Street when you turn the corner and you’ll see the aquarium on the left. There is also a nice view of the harbor from the top of the stairs of the aquarium when you are exiting.
