Race Point Beach, Massachusetts, United States

4.5 (1.527 reviews) Spent Ranking #5 in Cape Cod Beaches

Beautiful National Seashore beach

Relax on sandy shores and hike dunes and grassland at this beautiful coastal stretch on the tip of Cape Cod. Spot seals sunbathing on the sandbars off the coast, and book a boat tour during the summer and fall months to see the whales that migrate through the area. Later in the day, head to the westernmost end of the beach to see the 200-year-old Race Point Lighthouse during sunset—in summer, the sun disappears right behind the lighthouse. There is ample parking nearby, and also restaurants and cafes in the area. – Tripadvisor

    Clean beach with gorgeous views
We went to Provincetown with the idea we would walk around the shopping district and hit a few museums. It was so hot the day we drove up that we decided to hit the beach to cool off. Boy was I glad we stopped! This was probably the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. The water was a deep blue color and the sand soft and very clean. After paying the $25 fee to get in (worth it if you stay a while), we parked and walked a short distance to the beach. It was not crowded at all so we felt comfortable with the social distancing. People were swimming only at the edge of the water - I think it gets deep quickly but also may be due to potential presence of sharks, not sure. While we were there we saw a family of seals poking their heads above the water. There are lots of colorful rocks that wash up on shore which I enjoyed sorting through. Part of the beach was roped off for the protection of nesting shorebirds but there was still plenty of room for people to spread out. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we stayed longer than expected and ended up coming back the next day to see Provincetown.

    Beautiful National Seashore beach
Race Point is a beautiful beach with lifeguards, restrooms, and changing area. The only drawback is that it is $25 a day to park. The good news is, if you travel to the beach without a lot of extra gear, the local shuttle will drop you off and pick you up for only $2.00. This is an excellent beach for seeing the sunset. Cape beaches are not good for shell seekers as the beaches are erosion beaches. This is a dog-free beach.
