Fantastic assemblages

Using detritus and junk that would normally be binned, Tinguely made statements about the multitudes of materials and items that we use in everyday life. It’s a tremendous melange of pieces he compounded from objects both salvaged and intact. On the lower floor are the largest creations. Some can be explored by walking onto and upwards. Regularly they spring into life with wheels rotating, cymbals banging and other great kinetics. Temporary exhibitions were also underway. Dutch artist Anouk Kruithof's Universal Tongue had an installation celebrating the exuberance of dance. Multitudes of screens display ever changing dances in all their ingenuity. A pressing environmental issue is waste in all its manifestations. Territories of Waste concerns itself with this mountainous problem.

What a surprise!
It has a permanent exhibition of modern art sculptor Jean Tinguely and Swiss painters. It is located in Solitude Park by Rhine River. The museum exhibited sculptures, llustrations illustrations, photographs and other documents related to the artist's life and also displayed some of the works of the his wife and his modern artists friends eg Yves Klein. My whole family liked this museum as it's like a park to us, we could climb up to the magnificent works from one side and a half climbed down from another side. This is an interesting way to explore and appreciate art works and we had fun time here. I highly recommand you not to miss it if you like art!

Imagination Put Into Action!
This museum shows the great imagination of Tinguely and his ability to put his ideas to work. A lot of interactive pieces. A great place to spend a few hours. A beautiful building right on the river.
