Puerto Chico, Cantabria, Spain

4.5 (343 reviews) Spent Ranking #10 in Santander Marinas • Piers & Boardwalks

Really nice place to stroll around the waterfront

Puerto Chico (Little Harbor) is the very core of Santander, from earlier times when it was the home of the city's fishing fleet. Pleasure craft moor here today and it offers splendid views of the bay and access to the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria.

    Lovely walk by the sea
Nice gentle walk by the harbour ,can see all the boats and keep your eyes peeled for some big fish! There is a cycle point where you can hire a bike for a small fee ad if you follow the harbour round it leads you straight past the maritimo museum to the beach. *Although the port is a sheer drop down from pavement and has no railings or fences so if you have small children please be aware of this.

    Great promenade by the water
Wonderful views of the city from a terrific, wide promenade (Paseo Maritimo) along the water. Buildings across the street are striking, as is the small, but interesting Palace of Embarcadero (the loading point for passenger ships). Continue west and you pass beautiful beaches, grand homes and a Riviera like, El Sardinero. A terrific walk!
