Gorgeous beach

We stayed in pedrena so got the ferry to somo. 6 euros return for two people about 10 min ride. Once you get off just veer left and follow the boardwalk. When you get to the first major opening that takes you onto the beach. It was near the life guard and first aid section. The beach is gorgeous. Nice fine sand. Stretches for miles so wasn’t crowded on a Monday afternoon. The view of the two light houses and Santander were amazing. Small waves so need see surfers The town somo is nice, clean and quite a few places to eat. Definitely makes for a great holiday!

    Take the boat to Santander
If you are intending to visit Santander for a day visit and you did not want to waste time finding somewhere to park get the ferry from Somo. It takes about 20 minutes and costs 4.95 euros for a return fare. You can also get the boat as it stops at Pedrena but for parking there is more room at Somo. Boats go every half hour and berth right in the centre of Santander.

    Clean, great vistas
This beach is surrounded by wonderful vistas. Its pristine, there are lifeguards, a restaurant at the entrance and shops and foodmarts surrounding it. We found street parking on the approach but there is a large lot next to the beach. The drive to the beautiful is breathtakingly beautiful.
