Brilliant nature
Breathtaking natureressort with stunning views. Nearly all the shown animals are endangered and have a big area to move around. Especially the bears have a huge area with walkways in the mountains. All animals looked healthy to me, with nice, shiny fur and without running head down from one corner of their cage to another....... if captivity is neccessary, then it should be like this. The Restaurant in the park offers a menue, which is not worth it. Rather grap a quick snack or bring your own (tables available all over the park). Restrooms all over the park were very clean.

Open-Air Zoo In Cantabria
Cabárceno Natural Park is an open-air zoo in Cantabria, it is a safari park and a nature reserve located in the town of Cabárceno, Spain. The park is amazing but Animals are faraway. It is worth of aerial perspectives from the park's two telecabinas (cable cars). Great for families. SEE photos

Lovely day out
Unable to hire a car or book an organised trip, we took a public bus from Santander direct to Caberceno and tried to do the park on foot. I think we would have managed it had they not closed half the stations on the cable car. Once you got into a cable car - you were not allowed to get out at any other stations other that the one you entered i.e. a round trip. The reason... COVID... Ridiculous. Whilst this info is available on their website (I found it upon my return home), hidden away in a sub page, it was not very obvious. I would never have tried to do the whole park on foot had I known this.. That said, we made the best of it on a very warm day and walked 20km (as reported by fitbit) that day seeing around 2/3 of the park. The bear enclosure was by far our favourite section although being able to get very close the elephants, zebras and Rhinos was also very cool. The food at the kiosks was expensive and average at best. I would return although next time I would hire a car or take a guided tour in order that i manage to see all the animals and not half kill myself in the process due to the strenuous walking required to try it on foot.
