Well laid out
By car you’ll see signs to the cemetery on N-634 leading out of Castro Urdiales in Santander direction. There’s a small chapel just inside the gates and an information panel in both Spanish and English on the exterior to right of entrance. This is a replacement Cemetery, planned in 1885 and built with public contributions. It’s laid out in parallel lanes (makes it easy to navigate round) with numerous family burial plots and a number of ornate tombs/crypts. The grounds are also a resting place for cats (see my pic!). I would say it’s not really worth the effort of a visit unless you have an interest in burial architecture. There’s a large skateboard park on the approach and being an isolated spot I’m not sure I’d like to leave my car unattended for too long (I walked up from town).
