Repeat visit to a beloved area - the town of Orotava
We love visiting this town only a short drive from Puerto de la Cruz. We enjoy visiting the Victoria Gardens which are immaculately kept and taking in the spectacular views from this hilly area. There are many places of interest, traditional buildings with wonderful balconies, many domes, and churches as well as flowers and trees. There are plenty of restaurants but we have a favorite - Cafeteria Venezia where the tapas are delicious and resonably priced.

Walk
A beautiful area. We often catch the bus to La Orotava, a beautiful town to explore, and then enjoy the scenic walk back to Puerto. When we hire a car we go higher.up and enjoy the wonderful views.

Great architecture and atmosphere.
OK, after 48 hours in Tenerife I get the point that a lot is done to discourage individual tourists. Churches closed, road access a nightmare, most public sights closed to non locals (with the poor excuse of data available to the public, on internet : only in Castillian, not advertised, changing daily....). BUT Relatively easy parking, good atmosphere and buildings, open to the public (either facades that can not be easily covered or private places that welcome tourists). A good 3 hours there, I strongly recomand.
