Lovely morning spent for free in beautiful surroundings
The park was easy to find using Google maps with no tricky roads. We parked at the lower entrance and having seen the hill up to the top we were glad we did, we decided not to walk to the top but to explore the lower gardens only. This still took us 3 hours and appeared to contain the prettiest parts of the garden anyway. If you want the view from the top, I would recommend driving to the top car park and then moving to the bottom one unless you enjoy steep and rather tricky climbs in the heat. There were a number of pretty ponds filled with colourful fish and crayfish dotted around the park. Some of the water features were out of order, hopefully these will be repaired soon. The cactus garden was nice and there were loads of large lizards in the ravine area which my kids loved spotting. The lady at the gate spoke good English and explained the park and best route for us well. There were several toilets dotted around the park. All in all a lovely free morning was had by us all aged 9-45.

A real change from the barren, rocky south of the island. We visited in February, probably not the best time to visit a garden and it did look in some areas as in need of a little TLC. It appeared that there might be some extension work carried out by working parties of students on adjacent land? Some of the steep, narrow paths leading up to the restaurant need careful negotiation but overall it is worth a visit. It is peaceful and full of bird song. Look for nesting birds in the rock face of the cliff.
