    Amazing!
To be honest all of La Gomera could be a National Park, but the actual park preserves the peak of the old volcano and the unique vegetation which preserves the type of forest which used to cover all of south west Europe. La Gomera is volcanic, but activity ceased 2 million years ago and since then erosion has been at work, carving deep ravines down to the sea. There are many walsk and viewpoints showing this spectacular park. If you visit, make sure you stop at the visitor centre at Las Rosas where there are interesting exhibits about life on La Gomera, natural history (a good film is available) and shops selling typical produce - and I highly recommend the cookies made La Gomera style!

    Wonderful mossy forests
Spent 2 weeks walking on La Gomera in Jan 2020 and kept on returning to the national park as it is so beautiful and different. Beautiful trees of Laurel and heather (plus others) covered in moss and lichen all above ~900m. Cloud is common up here and mositure is deposited on the vegetation creating a wonderful eco system providing water for the whole island. We had days of sun and some of broken cloud. It was cool at this altitude as would be expected. Access is easy - you can almost drive to the highest point of the island so you do not have to walk far from the road to experience the forest. However, walking further afield allows the full experience without traffic noise etc.
