Charming

Lovely little coastal village with so much charm. We only stopped for an hour or so, to eat our packed lunch & enjoy the atmosphere of the place. Plenty of eateries & a long black sand beach. Some very nice pretty original looking buildings, unfortunately a few modern looking ones which look out of place. One of those places where modern doesn't belong.

Definitely the best holiday place on La Palma
We stayed there for 3 week in August 2017. As we did not want to rent a car, we opted for self-catering apartments by the sea. The closeness of a naturist beach, the only official one on La Palma, was the decisive factor. "Penthouse" with a private roof terrace at 'Roberto's Apartments' was a marvel (in spite of the necessity to clime a steep staircase). We had to move to "Kikere Apartments' for the last 5 days, and that was very nice too (and with a lift!). Everything was arranged via 'Holiday La Palma" agency, and everything was done nicely and smoothly. Shops, pharmacy, cafes and restaurants, ATM, bus top, – all was at a 2 minutes' walk. Much more is available at Tazacorte town at 20 minutes' walk or 5 minutes' bus ride. Still much more can be found in the Los Llanos city at 15 minutes' bus ride. We also investigated the whole island on regular route buses, and guided tours via Natour agency, and by trekking by ourselves. The beach is perhaps the best one on La Palma, and our preferred naturist beach was at just a 5 minutes' walking distance over a nice ocean-side boulevard.

Best beach on West coast of La Palma
Black sand beach, huge expanse, gentle drop off, less undertow closer to the seawall. A large selection of kioscos for snacks and full meals on the promenade above the beach. Highly recommended.
