Lovely colonial style walk
Memorable and friendly colonial era street, originally drafted by the bright Cremonan engineer Leonardo Torriani back in the 16th century. This southern half of Santa Cruz's High Street is named after one of the town's most well remembered local improvers, Sr.D. O'Daly, who made a mark on making the town grand and democratic in the 18th century. The street is exclusively pedestrian, and starts on the now-restored "Nitrato de Chile" ceramic poster, continuing nortwards. Numerous well-supplying shops are lined up and offer a historic and also a romantic walk. Awesome architecture is abundant, that would obviously be superb to see when guided by a local expert.

very old original street.
Visiting Santa Cruz de la Palma, means you also have to visit the old centre. This small centre reminds of teh old days the Spanish invader just arrived ( 1492). The houses were build the same way teh Spanish would build these all over teh world (Mexico, Colombia etc). Well worth the visit.

Intriguing Architecture
Very similar street to La Laguna in Tenerife, but there is more different styles here. I love the architecture, especially the various panelled doors, & the original timber balconies. We were lucky it was a quiet Saturday afternoon when we strolled along, giving me plenty of chance to enjoy the Architecture, Mrs.B wasn't quite so impressed.
