Pretty good, but overrated.
Let me begin by explaining I have traveled extensively and visited the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Aegean, the English Channel, the East Coast of the US, the Pacific Coast of Mexico, etc. etc. So I thought that Mendocino had nice scenery and some fun stuff to do, but I have seen equally impressive scenery and done even more fun stuff in other places. Like everywhere in CA it was very expensive and too trendy for me. We had some pretty good food, but nothing wonderful, and it cost a lot of money. Plus the weather is awful. I'm not in awe of redwoods, either. I wouldn't go back, but you should go check it out and see for yourself.

Exquisite part of California Coast
we had an all too brief trip to Mendocino from our home in Marin county. The trip certainly catalyzed a desire to go and spend more time. There are beautiful hiking trails right on the bluff and of courseCrashing waves and apparently views of whales at certain seasons. Also the small town of Mendocino is very historic with very good restaurants and hospitality.
