Great views of mountain lakes

We hiked to Bear Lake, Little Bear Lake, Cub Lake, and Long Lake. A nice loop to see them all. Not that long, a little strenuous if you are old like me, and are dealing with chemo treatments. But we loved it, and highly recommend the hike

    Sierra summer at its best
Traveled from Graeagle to Gold Lakes Basin area for hiking and fishing. Went to Lower Sardine Lake and rented a boat with electric motor for Trout fishing......limit of 5 per fishing license.....lots of fun, and really good tasting to eat! Fish cleaning area available adjacent to boat dock. Other lakes for swimming, camping, and trail hiking.....good maps with directions, distance, and walking times are available. A really fun place where everyone can have a great time.

Absolutely beautiful area! But don't tell anyone....
We went hiking in the Lakes Basin area and really loved it. There were very few people (on the roads or on the trails). There were a ton of wildflowers, many lakes and lots of creeks and waterfalls. There are many trail options, big or small depending on your skill level. It can get warm during the day so take water and sunscreen (and your suit so you can get into the beautifully cool water in the lakes or streams). We will be going back for a week next year to explore more of the area.
