Joaquin Miller (Poet of the Sierras) Park: Nice Park in Oakland Hills, California
We went to Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, California. Joaquin Miller was an American Poet and Frontier Man. He was nicknamed the "Poet of the Sierras" (after the Sierra Nevada. At the park one can see his cabin. This area was a haven for artists. There is a section of the park one can walk to see various statues such as the Status of Joaquin Miller on his horse. There are several trails to hike such as the Geologic Discovery Trail. There are picnic tables. Its a very nice park in the Oakland Hills. In the Summer time there is summer theater at the Woodminster Outdoor Theater.

Valentine's date
It's been NINE YEARS since my prior visit to Joaquin Miller park. Thought it be a quick stroll!! Wrong!! This park is so huge that we had got lost a couple of times!! Encounter beautiful monuments. And even gorgeous view of the city air land and water!! Will be returning again soon this time with my fur babies.

Love the Trails!
This is an excellent park to get away from the city while never having to leave the city! As soon as you get into the trails, the city noise fades away and you're surrounded by trees and nature. There are lots of well marked trails and lots of great views. Love going to this park!
