Japanese gardens in Spring & Windmills
We went to the Golden Gate Park to see the Japanese Tea Garden in spring, the third week in March 2021. It was beautiful and everything was in bloom. We wandered around and took photos for about two hours. We then went to the San Francisco Botanical Garden and wandered around there for a couple of hours as well. We got to the Japanese Tea Garden by 9 AM and there were very few people there and the weather was perfect with clear skies which made for a great photography. Once we saw with the two gardens we went down to see the two windmills at the western most part of the park. The Dutch Windmill with all the tulips is a very beautiful place to see. The other windmill, the Murphy Windmill, didn’t have the same crowds as the Dutch Windmill because the only thing to see is the windmill and not the flower gardens. I would highly suggest going to see the gardens in the spring when everything is blooming and also go in the morning when the lighting is best and there are less people. The best time to go see the windmills would be late afternoon when the sun is shining directly on the windows. PS. This app won’t record the month we went which is really lame. We went in 3rd week in March 2021 and it won’t let me state the month. It says February but we really went to third week in March. Whoever reviews Trip Advisor needs to get this app updated because it’s been lame for years!

Delightful park with a range of attractions
February is not the best time of the year to visit this park, but it still provides a range of delightful walks. There are interesting statues dotted around and a small lake. You can also pay to visit some of the other attractions including a Japanese garden, botanical garden and a flower conservatory.
