Fantastic trip....

Fantastic from start to finish. The naturalist guide really knew their stuff and kept up a great commentary at the right times to let us know about bits and pieces and to answer questions. We saw a lot of Otters! I think the tally was 93! Plus Sea Lions, Harbour Seals, Grey and White Pelicans, Blue Herons and Egrets. It was a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours watching the wildlife at close (ish) distances. Especially if your into photography, the boat is very stable, with plenty of opportunity to take photo's. With reduced seating capacity due to covid times, social distancing was very well maintained throughout the boarding and seating arrangements and we were all masked all of the time, and it was absolutely fine! If I'd had another day in the Monterey area I would have done the trip again .

    Safari
On a fresh, clear blue skied afternoon we joined the safari and were delighted we did. The owner/captain directed everyone where to sit (so no need to jostle for position before joining the boat), before handing out binoculars, and every seat has a perfect view as we meandered up The Slough. Both he and the naturalist onboard guided us through the local history and to the wildlife surrounding us, offering constant details and anecdotes and answering every question - amazing know how. Coffee and cookies at the mid-point and many, many more otters and pups on our return meant it was a perfect way to spend 2 hours and understand lots more. Thank you!

A Pleasant Way To Spend An Afternoon
Been meaning to do this for years. On our recent Monterey Bay area we were treated to some beautiful coastal winter weather. Decided it was time to fulfill that wish. The Safari "vessel" was a pontoon type boat which provided a really stable and comfortable ride despite the non posture correct 2+2 seating. We are in our eighties now and do appreciate good seating. The "Safari" itself was wonderful with numerous sightings of all types of birds and marine mammals. We happened to be there right after the birth of a lot of otter pups. Didn't keep count but they seemed to be unending and very entertaining in their feeding activities. The Captain and the on board marine biologist were very pleasant plus very informative with all kinds of information about what we were seeing. We were even treated to a cup of coffee and a cookie on our return trip. Well worth the price paid and we would do it again in the future.
