Restful Place to Visit

In the midst of the desert it is always nice to come across a bit of green and this place does not disappoint. Tall green palms and cottonwood trees surround the area. We were lucky to come across a couple of rabbits out for a bite to eat.

    Accessible Oasis
If you drive down to the end of Cottonwood Oasis Road, you’ll come to the trail head for the Lost Palms Oasis Trail. But right at the start of that trail is a small oasis, the Cottonwood Spring Oasis. It’s basically a cluster of greenery (palm trees mostly) surviving in the middle of the desert. If you’re not planning to hike to one of the other oases in Joshua Tree, this is a quick and easy way to see one. It’s only about a 0.1 mile walk on a flat trail, or you can see the oasis from the parking lot.
