    Extremely loud music all night!
The first night we arrived we were directly across from a massive family who had rented three consecutive camp sites. They were EXTREMELY loud. They brought with them a PA speaker system and blasted awful music well into the night. I complained to the park rangers and they said multiple people had complained about them, but they did nothing. At midnight I couldn’t take the pounding music and the booting and yelling and walked after and asked them to stop. They thankfully stopped and we were thrilled to see then pack up the next day and leave. The lake where you can swim is mucky and filled with algae but was still a refreshing respite from the pounding heat. The next night was glorious. It was peaceful and quiet - just like a campsite is supposed to be. Probably won’t return.

Pleasant State Park. Not spectacular but enjoyable.
This particular State park is off the beaten path. Clear Lake itself is not ago to destination in California. But this particular state park is pretty popular with individuals who like to camp. There is also a place to swim and a life guard was on duty when we were there. The water is pretty cold but you could still have an enjoyable swim here. There are also plenty of picnic tables near the swimming spot. There are bathrooms which are far from perfect but are adequate. The entrance fee is eight dollars for a day pass. The state park is not huge but there are a number of separate campgrounds. There are also places where you can boat and kayak.
