History in a small package

Put this small, free museum on your itinerary. The exhibits take you through tabaco production on the island from prior to US occupation. There is so much to learn. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and ready to expand on the information in the exhibits and answer your questions. We wandered on our own and approached her when we wanted to know more. If not already on your itinerary, add Caguas, a city with lots of history, a central plaza and something for everyone. This little museum is definitely worth the trip.

It was neat
We caught it at the very end, but it was neat and it was also interesting. I wouldn't spend more than an hour there, but it deserves the hour spent.

History of Cigar Making Comes to Life.....
My brother-in-law Michael and I wandered into the Museo del Tabaco while visiting Caguas on our way from Guanica to Old San Juan. We had just left the Sangria Factory and our wives headed back to the car about one block away when we saw the sign for the Tabacco Museum. After we entered we were greeted by a host at the Museo and he gave us some information regarding cigar making, it origins, and a chance to watch the ladies working there who were actually rolling the cigars. Even though we both don't smoke cigars we found the skill and artistry of making quality cigars pretty fascinating. If you are a cigar smoker you will enjoy watching hand made cigars being produced right in front of your eyes.
