Haedong Yonggungsa, Busan, South Korea

4.5 (2.304 reviews) Spent Ranking #7 in Busan Religious Sites

This place is amazing. A must see!

Went early in the morning to the temple to beat the crowds, but many people were also visiting the temple. Took Metro from Hotel (in Seomyeon) and bus to the location. Short hike into the temple from the bus station (outside Skyline Luge Busan) The entrance was free with street food lining the path into the temple, food may be overpriced though. Much hiking around the temple is needed, hence be careful of steep stairs and slopes. Very satisfied with the experience, probably the best place to visit in Busan.

    A peaceful and picturesque temple
We took the metro to Osiria station and walked around 30 minutes to the entrance of the temple, which is free admission. The temple is set on the cliff face toward the sea, and this makes for a beautiful setting. It is very tranquil and there are some impressive statues of Buddha’s which make for some great photos. We did this activity on a slightly rainy day and it was a perfect activity for this kind of weather. Definitely recommend if staying in Busan.

    Nicely located temple
The temple can be reached by bus and from there it is a wal of about 700m, part of it uphill. At the entrance there are many small shops. The temple itself is nicely located, nice but not spectacular. Even on a Monday it was quite crowded.
