A peaceful temple on the outskirts of Busan

We took the metro to Beomeosa Metro station and exit number 5, and headed about 150m up the road Cheongnyongyejeon-ro road, to the bus stop. We took the number 90 bus (from memory about 1,400 WON each) and this takes you right to the entrance. Note - if you walk from the metro the hill is extremely steep all the way. The temple itself is free to enter, and we arrived around 10am where we could hear and see monks doing their prayers with Buddhist people inside the temples. This was really beautiful to see and peaceful to watch. The architecture and paintings of the temples is very pretty, and you really get a feel that these temples still in use are some of the most genuine temples in South Korea. Nearby is also Cheongryeon-Am temple (<5 min walk), and this is also free and worth a visit too if you head to Beomeosa. Highly recommend including this in your Busan itinerary.

A really nice surprise, even nicer than we thought. Must see
Beautiful site with many little praying rooms with statues everywhere. In the last part of the park around the temple you have the big Bouddha statues with many divinities. Just on the side of the statues areas you have a little path with la y tough stairs... Leading you to a amazing site view where you see the forest, Busan and even the sea. We took the bus to go and walk to return. Easy exit Temple, 1st street on the left, walk few minutes and you see the bus stop

    Overnight Templestay
I did an overnight templestay at Beomeosa Temple (you can make a reservation on their website). It was a good mini break from the city life with no-meat food, 108 prostrations, early morning hike etc.. A lot of older people come here to go on hikes early in the morning. The temple is also very accessible to public transportation with Bus#90 and Line #1.
