Catching monsters at Buriram!

2nd time I’ve fished with owner Win at this beautiful lake. The fish I caught there 4 years ago have grown-a lot! 3 days fishing over Christmas 2021 saw me beat some Personal Bests with Redtail Catfidh up to 35kgs! A mix of Alligator Gar, Arapaima, Swai, Emerald Green Catfish, Walking Catfish and even a Motoro Stingray filled out days with some tremendous sport once again. Only around 20 minutes drive from centre of Buriram, and not to be missed if you like catching monsters! Win can supply all the tackle so you don’t need to bring your own, and has student helpers there to bait up and net the fish. A superb experience all round!

A wonderful day at Buriram Monster Fishing Park
It's been a while since I visited Win at BMFP, but with the C19-situation (almost) over I spent a day fishing there. This time I went with wife and kids. As always Win was a perfect host, and had everything set up when I got there. We fished with live bait, meat and bread. The day was great and everybody had a wonderful time. Win always has the fridge full with refreshments, and food is available. Fish landed this time was redtail catfish, aligator gar, edmerald catfish and savay. But the lake has a lot of other species too, for instance arapaima, mekong, rays, karp etc. Lots of fish, and a lot of missed bites (my fault). The size of the fish is good, and some BIG ones got away (as always). If you are around Buriram and have some time over, I really recomend at least one day at Buriram Monster Fishing Park. Thanks to Win for a great day.

A Most Wonderful Fishing Experience
This past year I was locked down for six months in Thailand and made a road trip to visit a sick friend who lived close to Buriram. While there a week I looked for something to do and as a long time fisherman, I called and booked a day at the Monsters Fishing Park. Arrived in good order and no problem finding the location about 25 minutes from where we were staying. Win and crew were waiting for us and a very impressive fishing stand and more than comfortable with chairs and all. And the fishing gear tackle was first class and easy to use. Luck was good and three fish total, I think two alligator gar, and one catfish. Lunch was ordered and arrived right to our fishing site and beverages were available as needed. Staff was most helpful as was the owner Win and so fun talking to him during the course of fishing. Late afternoon soon arrived and we were ready to call it a day and a wonderful one it was. If in the area, I would give this Fishing Park a definite go. You could not go wrong. Jim at Maplelag in bitter cold temps of minus 18 below F this morning.
