Choose wisely your staff
This review is not for the place itself but for the impolite waitress that served us. Been to this place many times, it has a nice and intimate atmosphere but the politeness and courtesy are quite important when it comes to staff. On Friday evening, the 29th October around 19-20 h, we (a group of 10 people) gathered on the terrace of l athenee to celebrate my fiancé's birthday. We stayed a total of 1.5 h just to offer some drinks to our friends and exchange gifts. In one of the rounds he offered, he ordered 5 beers directly at the counter. With the help of a friend he took the beers he paid for to the terrace. 30 seconds after my friend had her first sip of her PAID beer, a waitress comes out, goes straight to my friend and shouts "This beer is not for you", my friend, shocked, asked calmly "ah, no?", to which she replied NO and violently took the beer from my friends hand without giving any explanation. She took that beer and went back inside. It s a mystery what she did with it. To note that in that moment my friend had my one year old daughter in her lap. My fiancé who assisted the scene went back in to explain that he paid for 5 beers, not less. He got a new beer for my friend but no apologies or explanations were given from the waitress. Now, seriously, mistakes can happen, but is this the way of reacting? Taking someone's beer without saying anything? On top of that, you do that to a person that holds a baby? And you don't even apologise? Wouldn't it have been easier to just say "sorry" instead of reading this awful review?
