Wedgemount Lake, British Columbia, Canada

4.5 (38 reviews) Spent Ranking #28 in Whistler Bodies of Water

Such a beautiful place. Turquoise Lake, massive glacier, waterfalls. This place has it all!

It's a steep hike but it's not terribly long. Only 7k from the parking lot to the amazing lake. The lakeside hut is great as a base or one of the dozens of incredible-view tent pads. The glacier is close by and easily accessible and relatively safe to hike on as long as you stay away from the edges and crevasses.

best and worst day of my life
we are from australia and come from flat land. we decided to do this trek and to be honest, we werent prepared for how hard this would be. the bridge at the start is horizontal, but from then on its up and steep. we hiked through the woods for close to 3.5 hours with plenty of breaks (had camping equip on our backs). then there is a 20 min vertical scramble up rocks. however once at the top, the view is nothing i have ever experienced. we set up camp on the river, had a cold swim, had a well deserved beer then went to the glacier which is about another 45 mins away. surfed an iceberg. well worth the effort. came back to camp had dinner and beers and danced under the moonlight. awesome night. the way down for me wasnt as hard as going up. be prepared to test your self mentally and physically. but well worth the effort.

    Unreal views
The hike is not easy but the views at the top are beautiful! Lucky we got to see the lake but we also experienced white out conditions at the top making it difficult to find our way down. I would highly recommend bringing a compass as the weather can change quickly. But even the white out conditions are stunning
