Abbotsford's Best Beach!

Okay, there are no other beaches in Abbotsford, so compared to swimming in Mill Lake, this is awesome. It was once a quarry, so not naturally beautiful since it's man-made. The sand isn't the finest, but does vary in grain size depending where you lie. The lake is warm enough in summer and nice for swimming. One end is sectioned off for swimming, while the rest is for waterskiing and wakeboarding. Opposite the swimming end is a dog area. Two decent volleyball courts and a trail around the lake. When I started coming here 20 years ago it was a secret and always quiet. Now it's hard to find a parking spot on any sunny day in summer. It was closed for swimming for a bit due to high bacterial count.

    Going to the dogs, literally
This little park has a man-made lake in the centre of it, surrounded by a walking trail around the lake. There is a decent size parking lot. The walking trail is gravel with a few slight inclines. The lake has a wake board park in it, and a beach area. The downside is that many people with large dogs allow them to go off leash, out of their control, and the park is littered with large dog feces. The posted signage does indicate dogs must be on leash, but there seems to be no enforcement of it. This spoils it for the rest of us, otherwise it could be a very nice little park.

Cool down on a hot day
I have been going here since 2004, it is and has always been a fantastic way to cool off on a hot summer day, it gets pretty crazy busy and can be hard to find parking of even beach real estate, but when you do it is worth it. Plus its the only place right nearby since Aldergrove lake was filled so..... is it awesome be default, kinda yes, but it is still pretty awesome,
