Battle site of the Chaco War

Paraguay and Bolivia disputed ownership of the Chaco region in the 1930s. This fortification was built by the Bolivians and taken by the Paraguayans in battle. The fort site and surrounding trench works are preserved. The museum houses recovered material and weaponry as well as lots of photographs. The museum curator gave us a guided tour with our guide translating into English. He will provide as much detail as you will allow him to. Access to the site is by graded roads that will be slippery when wet. It was very hot while we were there.
