Fantastic wildlife, Worth every cent
Incredible experience. My wife and I are both quite into wildlife, but with the advertisements, we thought this was just a river cruise with nothing too much of interest. Make no mistake - this is a HARDCORE 3 hour wildlife cruise. We saw iguanas, caimans, and birds galore, the highlights which were caracaras, many anis, egrets galore, other small waterbirds such as gallinules and jacanas, and more snail kites than we could count (probably 40+, absolutely everywhere). If you are into birding or into nature, I would literally make a trip to Mompox just to go on these cruises. If you don't give a crap about animals, this might not be the type of thing you are looking for, unless you have a lot of patience and enjoy just looking at pretty scenery for three hours. Be warned that the guides won't speak English, so come prepared with your field guide or your camera to get bird IDs. But I think it is unrealistic to expect people to speak English in a small town as Mompox. The boat driver and guide are very enthusiastic though, and will point as hard as they can so you don't miss anything. This is a river plains/agricultural wetlands habitat so expect a lot of waterbirds. We loved this tour so much we went twice on consecutive days; if you love nature you will probably do the same.

Amazing sunset tour
I was with a few friends and we did the tour, other than is there were only two other people on the boat. The wildlife was great, nice local music on the boat, and drinks if you want. Amazing to see Mompox from the water with the beautiful colours of the sunset
