Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research, Saarinen House, Michigan, United States
5.0 (11 reviews) Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #7 in Bloomfield Hills Points of Interest & Landmarks
Impressive Architecture
This is generally overlooked, but it's a great place to visit. Saarinen was the architect of the St. Lewis Gateway Arch as well as the JFK Flight Center and several college dorms. It's worth a visit.

Great house tour, includes information about Cranbrook
Fantastic tour at a great value. Ticket also includes admission to the moderately-sized art museum. Very knowledgeable guide and I appreciated the information about the campus that is shared while walking to the house. After seeing Saarinen's work in Helsinki, it was great to see the continuation of his work at Cranbrook and in his home The impact of this institution on American art and design cannot be overstated. Plan extra time to enjoy the art museum and grounds. The campus would be a great spot for a picnic.
