This was my first zip lining experience and now I am addicted - full review on blog!

I went zip lining with my sister and nephew on the mega zip and highly recommend it. It was a ton of fun and totally worth the money. It is a great day or few hours adventure for locals or visitors. They have a lot fo zip lining options so grat for families of any age. For a full review and details of our experience, you can find it on my blog - Rose Colored Wandering Travel and Lifestyle blog.

Good, but less than natural feel.
Went here on a Thursday afternoon and it was a good time. This is a multi-use area for many outdoor activities. Hiking, climbing, repealing, zip lining, etc. the trails were of varying size, shape, and condition. None of the ropes course activities were open so this will mainly cover hiking. One of the main trails leading in is really a gravel access road so it doesn’t feel like your off the beaten path. You then come up upon shipping containers out in the middle of the woods probably filled with ropes course gear. Convenient for the activity but a little non-nature like. When you compare to Ruffner Mtn, this seems a little more man influenced. One of the great finds was mine trail 14 which leads to an old abandoned mine shaft site. I only wish there was more history markers to help us along with the story. Overall I recommend but expect a little less nature scene.

    Best Outdoor Experience in Bham
If you are looking for a relaxing hike close in to the city, Red Mountain is the place. It is simply beautiful. The well-marked paths are wide and will take you through what is left of the historic ruins of a Birmingham iron ore mining operations. There are many ways to engage this scenic area: hiking, ziplines, climbing walls, etc. I have hiked Red Mountain every time I have been in Birmingham over the past 8 years. Whether you hike the entire trail or just part of it don't leave Red Mountain off your Bham list of to dos.
