    Zoo Light Safari
I went with my daughter and four grandchildren to Zoo Light Safari on a Friday night. The zoo was covered with Christmas lights and truly beautiful. It took us about 20 minutes to get into the zoo. We purchased arm bands so the children could ride the rides as much as they desired. We were about the 100th in line to ride the train. The lines were long and wrapped around areas, so it took about 30+ minutes to have our turn. The wait is kind of hard on little ones, but the older children seemed to enjoy the excitement of it. We all loved the train ride. They have lights behind an area that you are not able to see from the sidewalks, and the train takes you through the unseen area. The carousel was a blast as well, and also the large slides. We paid for petting zoo tickets, but tickets were not required to enter the petting zoo. It was a very cold night, so we purchased hot chocolate at $4.00 a cup. They didn’t have smaller and less expensive sizes for children. The hot chocolate was scalding hot! Not okay for children. Even after asking for ice to cool the hot chocolate down one of my grandkids was horribly burned. It was terrible and heart breaking. We will go again, but probably try it during the week to see if the lines are shorter. If there are long lines the wrist bands are not worth it. No one gets back in the super long lines to ride again, so probably just buying one ticket per child would be better. No hot chocolate. No petting zoo tickets.

    Underwhelming for the price
It seems like they spent a lot of donations and overpriced tickets on the main building where administrators hang out. Almost 100 dollars spent (food drinks etc) for multiple closed exhibits, and areas not updated since I was a kid 10 plus years ago. Most of what they have are small animals and older lions, big cats, etc. Every memory I have of the zoo is always seeing closed exhibits, and that didn’t change this time. I think, based on my experience tickets should be about 10 dollars with optional donations. They’re of course gonna sell drinks and food, so I don’t think tickets should be that expensive for young couples looking for affordable fun options.
