Great exhibits, difficult entrance/ticketing
We went to Altes Museum first, after the ticket line in the Pergamon Museum was extremely busy. We got an all day ticket for the whole Museumsinsel at once to skip the lines and see what interests us in the different exhibits. After enjoying the Greek collection at Altes Museum we went back to Pergamon Museum. Unfortunately, skipping the long ticket line didn't work because we got sent back to get another " Zeitfensterticket " at the ticket booth. So, after we almost left the museum a nice lady at the information counter helped us out and referred us to her less busy coworkers, who issued another ticket for the Neues Museum, where we went to the Nefertiti bust. After realizing that the Pergamon Altar was still closed we skipped going back to get another Zeitfensterticket to get entry. I found that process very annoying and the company who manages the ticketing on Museumsinsel should find a more efficient way of letting people get access after they paid already for the tickets. Please, check with the Metropolitan Museum in NYC how they manage visitors and groups waiting in line for access. Berlin can do better!

Nice central area of Berlin
If you take a river cruise along the Spree you're about to pass by the beautiful Museum island at its western tip by Bode Museum. This site is one of the most photographed in Berlin. The western part of the island is totally dominated by museums, hence the name. Starting with Bode, here are also the Old and New Art galleries, and the best one imo - the Pergamon museum. If you're about to visit all of them, or at least 2, you should buy the combined Museum pass as it's more economic than paying separately. Another spot not to be missed on the island is the terrific Berliner Dom Cathedral, but please refer to my separate review dedicated to it.
