Christmas Market
We came to the Christmas market on a Saturday afternoon in early December and were really impressed with how it was set up. You had to pay 1 euro to enter which no doubt went towards the overheads of the security on the enclosed area and well being of visitors (not that it was needed). A brass band were performing on the steps which provided a lovely atmosphere whilst perusing the stalls of baubles and other decorations, crafts, food and drink. We only stayed for a couple of hours which was enough to go around all the stalls however I would imagine it would be a different, but enjoyable, atmosphere at night with food and drinks flowing.

The province that would be Metropolis
This square is a caricature of Hohenzollern aspiration. Everything is too big. Two large, identical, symmetrical churches - what for? Surely to show Paris and London that a provincial place right in the middle of the Brandenburg sandbox could do oversize, too? Sit down and ponder hubris in her cradle. Bring food and drinks from somewhere far away that's not a tourist trap, though.
