Gate is cool mamma sucks
Definitely worth the visit, went there with the wife and then read a bit about the history and it was very interesting. On the inside of the gate there was the US embassy on one side and on the other side there is a restaurant called MAMMA, don’t eat there under any circumstances. The served locals who arrived later before tourists, charged for things we didn’t receive, took an hour to get a pizza which was cold and essentially ignored us most of the time. Oh and my wife and I watched the waiter compile bread out of baskets and put them in one and reserve that bread to a new table. Now that’s just gross.

Stunning but poor hospitality
Firstly, when I arrived by cab, a guy who was operating a bike cart started screaming at my cab driver and then me for no reason. I gave him a piece of my mind and he went away (idiot). It was a bald Caucasian guy who wears glasses. Be on the look out for him if you go. He’s a right misery guys. On a more positive note, the gate is a stunning visual display especially on a sunny evening. Lots of tourists were there taking pictures with the gate in the back drop. It’s not far from the Berliner tower. You can literally take a Bird scooter between the too. Go here for around 7:30 then catch the Berliner tower views from sunset
