Situated on the slopey road from Berat's old town to its Castle, the National Ethnographic Museum stands as a true local gem, totally worth a visit. This wonderful museum offers its visitors a peak into the life of a wealthy Albanian family of the 19th century. Numerous artefacts and a well preserved architectural gem may be one of the few reasons for you to decide to visit this amazing museum. All recommendations!

Interesting look into local culture
We found this museum interesting as it gave an insight into ‘old style’ Albanian living. This is quite a big old house and all the rooms seems to have their own specific purpose. Obviously lots of time was spent on the large veranda, which is understandable, given the hot summers here. Definitely worth a visit if you’re coming down from the old castle.

The best ethnographic museum in Albania
It is not really a museum, but rather a beautifully preserved traditional home with some interesting exhibits. The house, the rooms, the presentation and the ambiance (including the beautiful garden) are well worth a visit. very enjoyable.
