Expansive city park
The Olympic Park is pretty close to the city center and it covers a huge area. The northern part of the park features a lot of greenery, the BMW Welt and sports facilities for the local universities. The southern part features the Olympiastadion as well as many other Olympic facilities as well as a lake, Sealife, the tower and a few places to grab a bite or drink. During a sunny it is perfect for a stroll and nearby the tower there are a couple of food stalls and beer gardens to enjoy some simple food or beer. Just below the tower there is a kind of food hall as well. Any Munich visitor should make it to the Olympic Park if time allows, especially with children it is a nice getaway.

How to spend a few hours layover in Munich.
Having to spend a few layover hours in Munich, I decided to visit the Olypiapark. A promo ticket for the train (9,00 for a week) took me there and made also possible to go later to the center and back to the airport. A visit at the Olympic Tower (11,00) gave an overview of the entire area. The legends helped to understand the suround, a sausage with a beer (9,80) and a visit of the nearby BMW building (free entrance) concluded my visit. It's a place that someone must visit in Munich, regardless of the access to the stadium or other major sport venues, or not.
