A Great Place to Start Your Visit of Munich

This prominent public square, the largest in Munich, still stands as the center of social activity in the city, much as it has throughout history.

    Glockenspiel
What a delightful Christmas market! I loved all the lights, all the vendors, different Christmas market mugs, Gluhwein, food.... When the Glockenspiel played (11 and 12 am), everyone stopped to pay attention. It was magical! Not all the merchandise you see is handmade in Germany, though. Quite a bit is imported from China. Check before you buy!

So much to do and see, so much history, so much fun
Make sure you go up the tower of the new Rathaus (there is an elevator), and has a wonderful view and only costs 6 Euros. The Glockenspiel is captivating, there's the old Rathaus (now a Toy Museum), the Fish fountain, St Mary herself, and so many other sights and great places to eat. Great place too start any trip to Munich.
