Unusual lovely plaza

Wonderful atmospheric plaza as you go up the hill, with the old parts to two sides. Sheltered from the cold wind in March with cafes/bars around.

Arrived in Vitoria at 7pm for a short overnight stay at the NH Canciller Ayala Vitoria while traveling with a group tour through Spain. The Plaza is a short walk from the hotel through the Parque de la Florida. I just fell in love with this area. It was just so beautiful I decided to go for another stroll the next morning just as it was getting light before I had to leave Vitoria. I was just in awe standing upstairs by the Cathedral with an overview of the Plaza below. I was amazed of how many people are out in the evening enjoying their time with family and friends at the cafes in the Plaza. The architecture is stunning. Took the stairs behind the church and walked along the narrow streets above and even came across some colorful murals on apartment buildings.

    surprising city
Vitoria Gasteiz is a visit worth when you are in neighbourhood. Nice buildings, relaxing atmosphere. The plaza de la virgen Blanca is a central place with a lot pubs, restaurants. A good starting point for strolling in surrounding streets.
