Pintxos at the market
On our first day in Bilbao we wandered from our hotel down through the city to te old town, we didn't have anything in mind except to have a casual walk and take in the sights and the sounds. Eventually we ended up down by the river and popped in to the Mercado De La Ribera, initially for someone to use the toilet but after investigation we decided to stay and have something to eat. We found a number of stalls selling good quality pintxos and drinks. We were a little early for lunch but tempted by the quality of the food on offer we stayed. We selected a number of items from different stalls, for myself some octopus, Iberian ham and tortilla. Accompanied with some keenly price rioja of a good standard we enjoyed a relax lunch in this busy part of the market. We sat inside but there are also tables outside on the river side of the market.

Food, Market, Fun!
This is a great place. I had a class that taught us how to cook here. It was a nice experience. My only negative (which it makes sense, not arguing, just making you aware) the prices for food inside there is a bit expensive. Just spend the money to travel a little more around Bilbao and eat at a more local joint for half the euros.
