    Part of Grand Palace
The Temple of the Emerald Buddha grounds is the entry point for a tour (also) of the Grand Palace. This gorgeous temple is a must-see if you’re in Bangkok. Located inside of the Grand Palace, it’s one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Thailand and is worth visiting for the beautiful Buddha statue alone, although the building itself is also breathtaking. Come, take off your shoes, sit, and take in the beauty. Pictures were not allowed inside the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. There is no place that sells food or drinks inside the temple area. There is a shop next to ticket sales if you want to buy eg. water. Go to the main bot of the Emerald temple first, as soon as the complex is open, and you may experience it without too many other visitors around. The star attraction is the Jade Buddha. This is a magnificently carved Buddha which has rotating outfits. No photography is permitted. The temple where the jade green Buddha sits was quiet, there was a hush of reverence in the hall, as local visitors and tourists alike pay respects to the Buddha. The building housing the emerald buddha is a work of art - the murals cover the whole of the very sizeable inner walls. A lot of murals a long the wall, 100 meter, perhaps.

Worth a stop if you are at the Grand Palace!
Wat Phra Kaew is located on the grounds of the Grand Palace. It costs 500BAHT a person to entry and you must be dressed respectfully. We had a hard time finding the Emerald Buddha how things are not labeled well and there is a million people there. If we were smart we would have paid for the a guide. There is a ton to see beside the Emerald Buddha and you are not going to want to miss out on any of it. Wat Phra Kaew houses the sacred Emerald Buddha that is seated in meditation pose and is carved out of a single piece of Jade. Buddha is 19 inches wide at the lap, and 26 inches high. Not as big as I was expecting but it is incredible. Most of the temples at the Grand Palace you can not take photos in.
