Technoseum Mannheim (ehemals Landesmuseum fuer Technik und Arbeit), Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

4.5 (233 reviews) Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent Ranking #3 in Mannheim Speciality Museums

Great exhibits, would be great with audio guides in other languages!

Like most have already written, this is a great place for kids of all ages to explore. Ticket price is only 12 euro for a family but experience would have been greatly enhanced if they offered audio guides in english. We passed at eating at the cafe, seemed pricey for what was offered but there is a McD's nearby.

    It's great especially for kids
Was here in April 2012. There's only 1 setback here. No English map / brochure / labels / any written explaination. I'll have to start with this because otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars. It feels rather incomplete for someone who knows nothing about German language like me. The cashier at the ticket counter was polite but can hardly speak any English. I made my way and realised that they were nicely separated into sections and different floors. The science experiment section was fun especially for children. There are people stationed around the place if you need to ask a question and they can speak English. There's a cafe inside if you need a bite. The variety of what one can see is good, from autos, sewing machines to plastic extruders. This place is just a short walking distance from Luisenpark.

Interactive exhibits great - building needs more signs!
We visited on a rainy day and found the place hard to find even with GPS. We parked faraway and could not find their parking lot. The occupy part of a building and many parking lots are confusing. Once we paid with an employee who speaks no English, the fun began. The exhibits are very interactive and we enjoyed trying them. The place was not too crowded and we could not see all of it. Finding your way around inside the maze was not the best. They could use more signs and maps.
