What a beautiful place
I love Schloss Karlsruhe. The interior decoration is beautiful and incredibly well preserved. The garden is peaceful and really nice. The way the Palace (Schloss) is situated and the way the city streets radiate out from the Palace, gives the city Karlsruhe the name Faecherstadt (Fan City). Nearby is the Marktplatz with its Pyramid, the resting place of the City's founder - very interesting. Also interesting is how Karlsruhe (Charles Rest) got its name and why the Palace was build at this location. According to legend, Charles William III, resting at the exact place where the Palace now stands, woke from his sleep, in which he was dreaming of a new city. And don't forget the Badisches Landesmuseum, taking up a large portion of the Palace rooms. It is one of the best museums and highlights the incredible history of the region and the city. A must see.

Nice view from the tower
The palace (which the museum is in) is marvelous! We came on Friday afternoon and were announced that entrance is free between 14-18. Good! We wandered through the museum, nice exhibition and not many people. The highlight for us was climbing up to the tower, and see the whole city (almost...) from above.
