Lakeside Walk
We took the train to Seebrugg and walked alongside the lake to Aha via Schluchsee. The initial walk in partly alongside the road but soon there is a dedicated path close to the waterside through woodland. We stopped for a snack at the station cafe at Schluchsee (which was excellent). Be noted that the lakeside path can get waterlogged in places between Schluchsee & Aha

Tip for parking
The lake is pretty large, about 18 km around I think. We visited instead of Titisee, which is supposedly a total tourist trap, and were pleased it did not fit that image. Nonetheless it is still very popular. If parking is hard to find right at the water in Schluchsee itself, just go up one street (Fischbacher Strasse) and you will find 2-3 small parking garages where parking for 2 or 3 hours is possible.
