Rastatt Residential Palace is the oldest Baroque residence in the Upper Rhine Valley. The palace, gardens and town were planned as a whole, to create an Impression of elegant and perfectly proportioned uniformity, with the palace commanding pride of place at the center. Fllowing extensive renovations and restorations, the Palace Church of the Holy Cross reopened ist doors for visitors. The church, built between 1720 and 1723, is one of a series of holy sites commissioned by Margravine Sibylla Augusta within her royal seat, Rastatt. A combi ticket for Rastatt Residential Palace and nearby Rastatt Favorite Palace is available.

Wonderful Evening Private Concert
Whilst on a Scenic River Cruise we were treated to a wonderful short concert of classical music and opera in this beautiful building. What we saw of the building was spectacular especially the ceilings. I wish we could have visited in the daytime to enjoy a tour of the historic palace.

Beautiful Historic Building
The Schloss was directly across the street from our hotel in a beautiful park setting. Although we didn't go in, we enjoyed walking the grounds and courtyard.
